BASINGSTOKE UK: The Bison after a slow set to the defence of their EPL crown, have got themselves back on track with six straight wins.
In fact the Herd have not lost, since they switched their imports, with Derek Roehl and Jan Jarabek replacing Petr Polodna and Jakub Barton.
American Italian Roehl has certainly given the offence a jump scoring four times in six starts.
The 28-year-old who hails from Clinton Township in Michigan, just north of Detroit, spent four years in the NCAA with Western Michigan Uni.
He started his pro career in France with Villard-de-Lans and then headed to Scotland to play for the Fife Flyers recording a career high 47 points and the following year suited up for the Braehead Clan also in the Elite League.
Last season, he split his time between Italy, American and Britain as he played for Valpellice, Indy Fuel in the ECHL and the Manchester Storm.
For new defenceman Jarabek, this is the first spell in Britain for the Slovak born blue liner.
The 27-year-old started his career with his home town team and spells in Hungary, Denmark and Germany followed.
Before joining the Herd, his past two seasons have seen him play in Kazakhstan for Gornyak Rudny.
Last weekend, The Bison collected another four-points courtesy of a 3-1 win on home ice over the Peterborough Phantoms and then a 7-2 road success against the Manchester Phoenix.
Man of the match Roehl scored the opening two goals against the Phantoms, before Ades Padelek replied.
A super breakaway strike from Matt Towalski completed the 3-1 victory.
The following night, the Herd found themselves a goal down in the opening three minutes from Jakub Langhammer.
The Bison replied with Roehl scoring again and Dan Davies tied things up.
Two more goals in the second session from man of the match Vanya Antonov, put the visitors on the road to victory.
Further strikes from Rene Jarolin, Grant Rounding and Davies, who like Antonov finished the night with 2+2 made it 7-1, before the Phoenix wrapped up the scoring from Edgars Bebris.
“It was great to see our winning run continue and we really played well as a team against Manchester. I hope we can take this form into this weekend,” said head coach Doug Sheppard.
Next up for the Herd, is a home game against the Sheffield Steeldogs and then a road game against the Guildford Flames.
