In Dallas Wednesday night, Ben Bishop made 30 saves to help the Stars shut out the visiting Buffalo Sabres, 1-0.
Bishop has a career 11-0-1 record against the Sabres.
“I got to keep it going (against the Sabres). I don’t want to talk about it,” Bishop said. “So far, so good, and knock on wood. I don’t know what it is about them.”
Dallas improved to 25-21-4 with the win.
Jamie Benn scored the game’s only goal.
The one-goal production has been a theme for the Stars who are 2-4-0 in their last six and have scored once or less in five in five of those games.
“We have a lot of guys that can score a lot of goals,” Bishop said. “I’m not worried about goal production on any given night. We’ve seen this year we have to find different ways to win each night. If we can get a 1-0 win, I’ll take it because there’s going to be other nights that we need some more.”
The Sabres dropped to 25-19-6 and are losing games they should be winning. Keep this up and they will lose sight of the second wild card spot in the eastern conference.
“I thought we got our legs under us as the game went on,” Buffalo’s Jack Eichel said. “We started to just make simple plays. It worked for us, but there’s no moral victories for us at this point of the season. It’s either you get two points or you don’t.”
The Sabres trail the Pittsburgh Penguins for the second wild card.

Linus Ullmark made 26 saves in the hard luck loss.
“It [stinks] to lose. We’ve got to think forward. We’ve got a seven-game homestand. We’ve got to bring the pace, bring the tempo and our greatest effort into those games,” Ullmark said.
