In Dallas Tuesday night, Ben Bishop made 38 saves to blank the visiting Calgary Flames, 2-0.
It was Bishop’s fifth shutout of the year.
“It was a big win. Four-point game there,” Bishop said. “These last 20 games, every game’s going to be important. It doesn’t matter how. They’re going to be different every single night. You’ve got to find different ways to win.”
Dallas improved to 36-23-4 and held onto the first wild card spot in the west.
Devin Shore and Tyler Seguin struck for the Dallas goals.
“It was awesome,” Shore said. “He was our best player tonight by far, and he was steady, he was in position all the time. He was on his game and it was great to see.”
The loss hurt the Flames as they trail the second wild card spot, held by the Anaheim Ducks, by one point.
“I thought it was a pretty good effort but you can’t hang your hat on a pretty good effort,” the Flames’ Travis Hamonic said. “We’ve got to gain some ground.”
