Maybe all the St Louis Blues needed was a new goalie.
On Saturday, Jordan Binnington made 21 saves for his third straight win in the Blues’ net as they defeated the Dallas Stars, 3-1.

“It’s been good, but at the same time, you’ve got to stay steady, keep coming to work every day and see how it goes,” Binnington said.
Vladimir Tarasenko struck twice for the Blues as they improved to 19-20-4.
“It’s good it finally goes in, but we need to keep working harder,” Tarasenko said. “There’s way more goals before I’m relieved.”
Pat Maroon also scored for St Louis.
“It’s been truly amazing, honestly,” Maroon said of Binnington. “I just think he comes up and he has an opportunity to play and another [heck] of a job for the guys.”
Erik Condra‘s goal was the lone blemish on the Binnington scoresheet.
The Stars dropped to 23-19-4.
“It’s frustrating,” Stars head coach Jim Montgomery said. “Two games in a row where we don’t compete at a level that’s acceptable (2-1 loss to Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday). Unfortunately, it’s very frustrating. I have not been able to gain consistency in the performance, and I haven’t been able to change the culture of mediocrity.”

Ben Bishop made 25 saves in the loss.
“We need to be ready when the puck is dropped. We can’t be babysitters in here and try to get our players going,” the Stars’ John Klingberg said after the loss.
