The Cottonmouths kicked off the scoring in the first, but the Havoc would come back. While killing off a power play, Ryan Wilkinson was fed a pass by Michael Piluso to pick up his first goal of the year. The shorthanded goal is the team’s second of the year.

Later in the middle frame. Dylan Nowakowski circled around the offensive zone after receiving a pass from Sy Nutkevitch and newcomer John Clewlow and roofed it from the high slot for his sixth goal of the year to tie the game at two.

In the third, both teams traded opportunities and creating chances but the Havoc held the better end of the night. In the final minute of regulation, Michael Piluso cycled the puck to the far side where Scott Fellnermayr threw up one to the point. The outstretched reach of Justin Tateson kept the puck in and a hard shot by the Alberta native gave the Havoc a 3-2 lead with 18 seconds left.
