Pro Hockey News has been fortunate to count quality, talented people among its team across the globe. And as we approach a significant anniversary in February, we are beginning to feature new and veteran team members on our pages.
In the last few weeks of 2016 and early 2017, PHN has been afforded the opportunity to add more writers and photographers to the publication.
The first feature is with Robyn Iwaskiw of Ontario who signed on in late 2016.
Robyn has been shooting sports for several years and is new to hockey with a full season of experience prior to coming to PHN.
“I have always been a fan of hockey since childhood,” Robyn said. “I enjoy watching the game for it’s fast pace, the incredible saves the goalies pull off; the way the players are able to best the goalies. The action of the game, open ice hits, the sound of the blade cutting through the ice as the players make their moves.”
Robyn shoots with Nikon gear and has been engaged professionally in her Ontario base.
Outside of photography and her hockey interests she time to for other activities.
“Travel is definitely one of my favourite things to do, explore other cities and check out their hockey arenas and what the city has hidden to explore,” Robyn said. “Spending time in nature taking landscape, architecture and cityscape photos; just getting away from the hustle of everyday life. If not out, I am also in the studio doing still life photography.
“When I have the opportunity, I like working with people in the studio to give them professional photos to use, whether its for their portfolio or for themselves to
have. I enjoy working with authors for example K. Brooks, on her book covers, scouting out different locations to find the perfect photos for her books and to use as promotional material.
“When my camera isn’t in hand I will be kicking back watching tv, catching up with friends and family.”
We are looking for forward to Robyn’s game images form the OHL, ECHL and more in coming months and seasons.
