Stanislav Berezhnoy picked up right where he left off in his first start in over three weeks. The Russian goalie made 12 saves in the opening period to keep the Wild off the board.

Landon Slaggert opened the scoring 4:43 into the 2nd frame to give the Hogs the lead. He received a pass from Brett Seney at the circle, spun and slid the puck underneath Cal Petersen.

The Wild responded four minutes later with a tally from defenseman Carson Lambos from the bottom of the far dot. Rockford snatched the lead right back after a successful penalty kill. Ethan Del Mastro jumped out of the box and helped lead the rush into the o-zone. Ryan Mast teed the puck up for Seney in the slot, who gave the Hogs a 2-1 lead.

Just seconds into the 3rd period, Caedan Bankier skated in on a breakaway and deked to his backhand to tie the game once again at 2-2.

Rockford drew its first and only power play of the game three minutes into the 3rd and needed only nine seconds to regain the lead. Dominic Toninato sniped the game-winning-goal from a sharp angle and under the bar for the 3-2 lead.
