Bees comback to sting Wildcats

BRACKNELL, UK – Five goals in eight minutes helped the Bees to a fantastic comeback against playoff rivals Swindon.
Bracknell found themselves two goals down after the first period, but doubles from Nicky Watt and Jaroslav Cesky along with strikes from Terry Miles and Michal Pinc saw the home side come away with a convincing 6-3 victory.
Captain Terry Miles said: “We just came in after the first and said it was important that we didn’t panic and played how we knew we could. I feel we started the first period well we just didn’t get the bounces we needed. There wasn’t any shouting or screaming in the dressing room, we just gave ourselves a serious reality check.”
The Wildcats came into the game trailing The Bees by three points in the race for the final playoff spot. The visitors couldn’t have got off to a better start as Jan Krajicek gave the Wildcats the lead with a power play goal. Swindon deservedly doubled their lead when Raimonds Danilics struck before the break, finishing well with a shot to the top shelf. The Bees came out with all guns blazing in the second period and a very professional performance completely turned the game around. Bracknell showed a lot more urgency scoring five goals to stun Swindon.

Michal Pinc got The Bees on the board after good work from Nicky Watt and Jaroslav Cesky. The same line was causing the Wildcats all kinds of problems and moments later Bracknell had their second goal thanks to Watt.
A solid power play helped Bracknell take the lead as Nicky Watt finished well, grabbing his second goal on the rebound from close range. Terry Miles took a penalty for hooking, giving Swindon a way back into the game. However, the Bees killed the penalty and Miles struck seconds after leaving the penalty box.
Miles said: “ It’s always nice to score and I’m enjoying getting a few goals this year as it’s been quiet on the goal front on a personal level for a while. It felt especially good as I had just been getting some light hearted abuse from a Swindon fan whilst sat in the penalty box.”

It got even worse for Swindon as Cesky was causing them so many problems. The Czech was cleverly avoiding being caught offside and was through on goal several times, but was hauled down as he tried to challenge the Swindon netminder. A penalty shot was awarded and Cesky made no mistake, giving the Bees a two-goal lead.
Five goals in seven minutes had turned the game on its head with the Wildcats running out of steam in the third period. They dominated the third but only had one goal to show for it as Matt Foord struck on the power play. The Wildcats went for broke in the final moments allowing Cesky to an easy second goal with the net empty. The 6-3 win for Bracknell pushes them 5 points clear of Swindon, comfortably holding the last remaining playoff spot.
