HERSHEY, PA – The Hershey Bears scored the first three goals of the Game One and never looked by and defeated the Manchester Monarchs 4-2 to take a 1-0 lead in their Eastern Conference final matchup.
Four different Bears scored for Hershey and Bears goaltender Michal Neuvirth made 24 saves on 26 shots. Monarchs’ goaltender Jonathan Bernier 24 saves on 28 shots. The Bears went 1-5 on the power play while Manchester went 0-5. Sean Collins, Andrew Gordon, Steve Pinizzotto and Karl Alzner scored for Hershey while Andrei Loktionov scored for the Monarchs. Game two is Saturday night in Hershey. 
With the win the Bears are now 9-1 in the playoffs and have a combined record of 69-18-0-3 record (regular season and playoffs).
