MELBOURNE, Australia – A weekend set of games in Melbourne by the Sydney Bears ended with a frustrating 4-2 loss to the Mustangs Sunday.
The Bears held a tenuous 2-1 lead heading into the final frame and like Saturday when they lost a lead to the Ice, the Bears yielded three goals on a 22-shot effort from the Mustan
gs.
In the end, the Bears vented some of their frustration as the match concluded with several misconducts handed out by the officials.
For the game, the Bears went scoreless in three power play opportunities while the Mustangs converted on two of six chances with the extra man.
Brendan McDowell, Patrick O’Kane, James Isaacs, and Jamie Bourke scored for the Mustangs and
Brian Funes and Billy Cliff had the Bears’ goals.
