Bears Blanked by Phantoms, 2-0

Pat Nagle stopped all 42 Hershey shots thrown his way to help the Lehigh Valley Phantoms blank the Hershey Bears, 2-0, on Saturday night at GIANT Center. The loss dropped Hershey’s record to 34-31-6-4. The team concludes the regular season tomorrow versus Syracuse at 5 p.m.

On Saturday, April 23, 2022, the Hershey Bears vs LV Phantoms. The Phantoms beat the Bears by a score of 2-0.

The game remained scoreless through 40 minutes despite Hershey outshooting the Phantoms 29-11 through two periods.

In the third frame, Lehigh Valley’s Cooper Zech broke the scoreless draw at 1:56 with his first goal of the season. Linus Sandin added to the lead at 8:49, striking on a slapshot from the right circle.

Saturday’s result was the 8th time the Bears have been shut out this season. Hershey finished 6-8-0-0 in the season series with the Phantoms. The Chocoalte and White went 0-for-7 on the power play in the loss, and were blanked for the third time in the past four games.

The Bears finish the 2021-22 regular season tomorrow versus Syracuse. The puck drops at 5 p.m. at GIANT Center.
