SAN JOSE, Calif –The San Jose Barracuda (16-10-3-3, 38pts) presented by Barracuda Networks extended their point streak to a season high six games (5-0-1-0) but dropped a 1-0 overtime decision to the visiting San Antonio Rampage (16-14-7-0, 39pts) in front of 4,878 fans at the SAP Center on Sunday afternoon. The Barracuda begin a three game road trip in San Diego on Wednesday night at 7:05pm vs. the Gulls at Valley View Casino Center.
Goaltender Aaron Dell (6-6-3) was superb in net making 26 saves in the loss for the Barracuda. Rookie Spencer Martin made 21 saves for his first AHL shutout for the Rampage with Reid Petryk scoring the game-winning goal at 3:12 of the overtime frame. 
The first period was fast and furious with both teams playing very physically. The Barracuda went on the power play three times and the Rampage had the man advantage twice but neither team was able to capitalize. Both teams had several good scoring opportunities, ringing shots off the posts. Aaron Dell made a great breakaway save in the final minute of the period to keep the score even. The game remained scoreless heading into the first intermission with shots in favor of the Barracuda 9-6.
Tight defensive play continued through the second period. Aaron Dell was the best player coming up big and denying the Rampage several times. At 3:51 Dell made a save with his mask then smothered the loose rebound. At 11:30 Dell made a highlight reel save sliding from left to right and denying the Rampage’s open net, one timer attempt. The Barracuda took two penalties but were able to kill them off. Shots were 11-4 in favor of the Rampage in the period with the score remaining at 0-0 heading into the second intermission.
Both teams continued to battle throughout the third period with each taking one penalty. At 10:03 Julius Bergman took a high and hard hit from Reid Petryk behind the Barracuda net but the Barracuda couldn’t score on the power play. Shots were 9-4 in favor of San Antonio in the third as the game remained scoreless at the end of regulation and went into overtime.
After San Jose fired four shots in overtime, Reid Petryk (6th) scored the game winning goal by skating up the middle of the ice and sending a snap shot over Dell’s shoulder at 3:12 for the only score of the game. Shots were 4-1 in favor of the Barracuda during overtime.
