Barracuda earn point in loss to Firebirds

Palm Desert, CA – The San Jose Barracuda (21-26-1-4) closed out its four-game road trip on Monday at the Acrisure Arena, falling 4-3 in overtime to the Coachella Valley Firebirds (34-9-4-2).CUDA EARN POINT IN OT LOSS AT FIREBIRDS

In the first, Alex True was called for interference and while on the power play, Andrew Agozzino found Kyle Criscuolo (12) in the low slot to give the Barracuda a 1-0 lead.

In the second, the Barracuda were outshot 19-to-7 and at 10:11, Carsen Twarynski (10) snapped a shot past Aaron Dell on the blocker side from the left wing.

In the third, Luke Henman (5) swiped in a Matt Tennyson point-shot to give Coachella Valley its first lead at 2-1. But at 3:11, Thomas Bordeleau (20) wired in a missile past Chris Driedger from atop the right circle to tie the score at 2-2. At 5:52, Jeff Viel (9) slid a breakaway through Driedger’s five-hole, but at 8:59, Cameron Hughes (8) swiped in a turnover through Dell’s five-hole to level the score at 3-3.

In overtime, Kole Lind (20) whistled a shot past Dell from the right wing on a two-on-one.
