Barracuda down Eagles in OT, 2-1

San Jose, CA – The San Jose Barracuda (6-4-0-1) enjoyed the second game of its four-game homestand with an overtime win over the Colorado Eagles (6-5-1-0) Saturday night at Tech CU Arena.

While it would take 11:04 to see any scoring in Saturday night’s affair, the Eagles jumped to a 1-0 lead when Charles Hudon (6) found the puck in a scuffle in front of the net and lifted it over the blocker side of Aaron Dell (3-2-0-0). San Jose responded quickly under 2 minutes later when Ozzy Wiesblatt found Jasper Weatherby (1) near the slot who caught it and snipped it to make the game 1-1. The Barracuda were given a 5-3 opportunity off two Colorado penalties but did not capitalize.

The second period saw no goals; however, the Barracuda saw four penalties. Andrew Aggozzino for tripping, Patrick Sieloff for holding, Tristen Robbins for interference and Montana Onyebuchi for cross-checking. San Jose killed off all four penalties while the Eagles outshot the Barracuda 16-3 in the frame.

In the final period, both Dell and Justus Annunen (3-2-1-0) stopped all shots they faced to force the game to OT.

In overtime, Barracuda defenseman Derrick Pouliot connected with forward Luke Johnson (3) in the middle of the slot where Johnson took a quick shot to become the overtime hero.
