SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Rampage (6-9-0-0) fell to the San Jose Barracuda (5-3-0-1) 4-0 in front of a season-high 8,083 fans today at the AT&T Center for their seventh-annual Cool School Day.
San Jose scored in the first frame, when Timo Meier connected on assists from Daniel O’Regan and Marcus Sorensen at the 1:50 mark. Thanks again to Meier and O’Regan, the Barracuda extended their lead 6:18 into the second frame when Sorensen recorded his third goal of the season. The Barracuda trio ultimately combined for three goals and four assists on the day.
The San Jose scoring streak continued late in the third stanza, when the Rampage opted to pull goaltender Kent Simpson in favor of a sixth skater. With an empty net for the Silver and Black, the Barracuda secured a victory after tacking on two more goals at the 17:59 and 19:23 mark by Rourke Chartier and Sorensen, respectively.
