Barons shutout Hamilton, 3-0 Joey MacDonald makes 28 saves in defeat

HAMILTON, ONT. – Oklahoma City Barons (26-8-2-2) forward Andrew Miller had a goal and an assist to pace his club to a 3-0 win over the Hamilton Bulldogs (16-16-6-0) on Sunday afternoon at FirstOntario Centre.

Oklahoma City forward Jason Williams opened the scoring 4:14 into the first period when he deked backhand on Hamilton goaltender Joey MacDonald. Forwards Curtis Hamilton and Matthew Ford had assists on the play. OKC Barons

At 15:33 of the opening stanza, a shot by Barons forward Iiro Pakarinen trickled past MacDonald to give OKC a 2-0 lead. Miller and defenceman Martin Gernat collected assists.

After a scoreless second period, Miller added an unassisted empty netter with 57 seconds to go to seal the victory for the Barons, 3-0.

MacDonald made 28 saves on 30 shots for the Bulldogs in the loss, while Richard Bachman stopped all 26 shots faced for the Barons in the win.
