The Ottawa 67’s will have a little bit of history on their minds, Friday night, when they visit the Oshawa Generals.

With four straight wins to start the 2022-23 OHL season, the Barber Poles are looking to become the first 67’s team to achieve a 5-0 start since 1996-97, and tie the mark for best start in franchise history, shared with the 1995-96 team. Puck drop is set for 7:35pm ET from the Tribute Communities Centre, and fans can stream live on CHL TV, or hear Kenny Walls call the action on 580 CFRA.
The 67’s moved to 4-0-0 on Sunday, defeating the North Bay Battalion 4-1 inside The Arena at TD Place. Brad Gardiner scored in his fourth straight game, with Luca Pinelli’s team-high fifth of the year proving to be the game-winner, before Henry Mews’ first OHL goal, and Jack Beck’s first of the season served as the insurance markers. Max Donoso stopped 27 shots in his fourth straight victory, achieving a career-long winning streak in the process.
It was also a milestone game for Head Coach Dave Cameron, who was behind the bench for his 750th OHL game.
Oshawa last saw game action on Saturday, where they fell 5-3 on the road, against the Hamilton Bulldogs. The Generals received goals from Ryan Gagnier, Stuart Rolofs (who had a two-point night), and Beckett Sennecke, but Hamilton scored two goals in the final 11 minutes to pull away for the win. Patrick Leaver made 20 saves in the effort.
This is already the second meeting of the year between these two teams, with the 67’s earning a 7-6 shootout victory in the season opener, on the road.
