Ivan Barbashev was traded to Vegas Golden Knights by the St. Louis Blues on Sunday.
The Blues received forward prospect Zach Dean.
Barbashev is in the final season of a two-year contract he agreed to with the Blues on July 30, 2021, and can become an unrestricted free agent. The 27-year-old forward has 29 points (10 goals, 19 assists) in 59 games this season.
Selected by St. Louis in the second round (No. 33) of the 2014 NHL Draft, Barbashev has 178 points (78 goals, 100 assists) in 410 regular-season games and nine points (three goals, six assists) in 50 Stanley Cup Playoff games. He won the Stanley Cup with the Blues in 2019.

Dean was selected by Vegas in the first round (No. 30) of the 2021 NHL Draft. the 20-year-old has 49 points (24 goals, 25 assists) in 38 games for Gatineau in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League this season.
The 2023 NHL Trade Deadline is 3 p.m. ET on Friday.
The Golden Knights (35-18-6) are first in the Pacific Division and 6-0-2 since the All-Star break. Forward Mark Stone is out indefinitely after having back surgery Jan. 31. Vegas’ captain was injured during a 4-2 win against the Florida Panthers on Jan. 12 and is expected to make a full recovery.
The Blues (26-28-5) are 13 points behind the Minnesota Wild for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference. They have lost five in a row (0-3-2) and have been outscored 21-8 since trading captain Ryan O’Reilly to the Toronto Maple Leafs in a three-team deal with the Wild on Feb. 17. Forward Vladimir Tarasenko and defenseman Niko Mikkola were traded to the New York Rangers by the Blues on Feb. 9 for forward Sammy Blais, defenseman prospect Hunter Skinner and two conditional draft picks.
