Vincent Deslauriers with two goals led visitor offensive on Sunday afternoon in Quebec.

“The only message we sent was that our guys are on evaluation at the end of the year, it is only interesting to get a win here we didn’t to jump to high on the roof. We will take the two points and we will only have two games left to play before the end of the year.” Baie-Comeau head coach Steve Ahern said near his team locker room.

“Everyone think it will be easy to beat us, it will be easy game, I think the Quebec oldest guys left us space on the ice, and our young guys took it, and we work hard, for the rest, we will take the credit.”

“We were undisciplined they got two rapid goals, we are in evaluation, we left the chance to young goaltender Paradis (Matthieu) with big crowd here (17,725) it wasn’t easy for him. If we look our record here in Quebec we might only won 10 times in life here in Quebec so we will take it. Ended Drakkar head coach and general manager Steve Ahern.

Quebec opened the scoring with two power play goals on their first three opportunities inside 1:06. Playing four-on-three Quebec veteran center Bronson Beaton surprises young 16 year old Baie-Comeau goaltender Mathieu Paradie under right arm at 12:12.

Matthieu Desautels wrist shot, surprised Quebec netminder Kiselev on his right side only 26 seconds into the third period, giving the lead to Baie-Comeau for the first time in the game.

Quebec seemed to be motivated by the arrival of new goaltender Cardinal as Matthew Boucher who hadn’t scored in his last 13 games, scored the Remparts’ third goal on great pass from Loui-Filip Cote. Boucher beat Bo Taylor on his right side with 9:54 remaining in the period.

Deslauriers came back for the visitor with his second goal of the game restoring Drakkar two goals lead with 4:41 left to play.

Trailing for second times in the game by two goals, Quebec head coach Philippe Boucher, decided to pull his netminder playing six-on-five, in hope to cut Drakkar leads in half, and get better chance to tie the game, and force the overtime.

That leads to second goals of the game by Matthew Boucher who redirect a shot first taken by Alexandre Sills.

“It was inexplicable,” Quebec left winger Matthew Boucher said after the game, we will have to find a way to get out of it because it isn’t like that we win games. If we have to play like that it won’t be long that it will be over.” Said the left winger who haven’t scored in his last 13 games before tonight.

Baie-Comeau came back with two other goals both in an empty net. First one by Raphael Santere with 1:33 left in the third, the other came from the stick of Antoine Girard at 19:09.

For the rest they work better and harder than us.” Quebec head coach Philippe Boucher said.
