Fife handed debuts to Milan Lucic and David Booth on Boxing Day in Belfast, but that was about as good as it got for the Scottish side as they were thrashed 9-0 by the rampant Giants.
That victory kept Belfast in fourth, but results elsewhere mean that they would be level for second if they win their four games in hand on Nottingham and Sheffield, and top if they win all five to go above Cardiff.
Fife remain rooted to the foot of the league, although they are just two points behind Dundee.

Fife faced Dundee at home on this date in 2013 and 2019, and were beaten 4-1 both times. Belfast were victorious on this date in 2008 in Hull, and in 2013 and 2019 in Braehead. They were beaten by Clan in 2014.
