BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The San Francisco Bulls (11-15-1-2, 25pts) scored twice on the power play and once shorthanded, to defeat the Bakersfield Condors (7-16-1-2, 17pts) 4-1 Saturday night at Rabobank Arena.
Just 1:28 into the game the Bulls broke the ice, when Justin Bowers finished a 2-on-1 for the first tally of the night. Bakersfield continued to pressure the Bulls and connected on a power play with just over six minutes remaining in the frame. Jacob Lagace buried his sixth of the season into a wide open net on a feed from Zach Cohen.
San Francisco controlled the play in the middle stanza, holding an 11-6 shot advantage in the period, and regaining the lead. Dean Oullet put home a power play marker with just over four minutes remaining in the second to make it 2-1.
In the opening minutes of the third the Condors were on the power play, but a fallen defender at the blueline led to an odd-man rush for the Bulls, and Kris Belan converted for a 3-1 lead. A power play goal at 7:46 gave the visitors a three-goal cushion, and the final margin.
The Condors head out on the road for their next four games, including Sunday night’s 11:59 p.m. matchup in Las Vegas. They return home to host Stockton on Thursday, Dec. 27 for Boomtown Bakersfield, and Friday, Dec. 28.
The Bulls improved to 5-1-0-1 against Bakersfield this season, including 3-0-0-1 at Rabobank Arena. The Bulls next play at HP Pavilion, home of the San Jose Sharks, on Monday, December 17 at 7:30, when they host the Stockton Thunder.

Ontario defeats Condors
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Evan Trupp gave the Bakersfield Condors (5-11-1-2, 13 points) the quickest Teddy Bear Toss goal in team history, but the Ontario Reign (12-5-0-0, 24 points) scored six unanswered goals and won 7-3 in front of 8,388 fans at Rabobank Arena on Saturday night.
Trupp’s goal at 1:13 of the first period brought the downpour of teddy bears and gave the Condors a 1-0 lead, as he slammed home a rebound of an Alex Hudson shot. The Reign would equalize at the 6:03 mark with C.J. Stretch picking up his first of the night to make it 1-1. Bakersfield would jump out to a 3-1 lead with a power-play tally from in tight by Jacob Lagace at 11:08 and a hardworking goal from Zach Cohen at 13:45. However, the lead would not last as Brock Sheahan (14:14) and NHL’er Kyle Clifford (16:47) tied the game at 3-3 before the break. The Reign outshot the Condors, 10-7.
Ontario tacked on two more goals in the second period to extend their lead to 5-3. Stretch got his second of the night at 10:41 and Dan DaSilva extended the lead to two at 15:41 off a screened shot from the slot. Bakersfield was outshot, 7-3. The third period belonged to the Reign as they scored twice to take the game, 7-3. Stretch scored both goals to finish with four goals on the evening.
Condors stymied by Idaho
BOISE, Idaho – Right wing Tyler Brenner scored twice, but the Bakersfield Condors (3-7-1-0, 7 points) surrendered two shorthanded goals and fell to the Idaho Steelheads (7-2-0-1, 15 points), 6-3, on Wednesday night at Century Link Arena.
Idaho got on the board first with a shorthanded tally from forward Kael Mouillierat, after he deflected a shot and was able to sneak one past Condors goalie Scott Greenham at the 16:03 mark to give the Steelheads a 1-0 lead. The Condors were outshot 17-10.
The Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Brenner equalized for Bakersfield at 6:05 into the second period on the power play, taking a feed from defenseman Olivier Dame-Malka and snapping a quick shot from the slot to tie the game at 1-1.
The Steelheads pulled back in front at 13:53 after forward Jacob Cepis finished off a two-on-one and put Idaho ahead, 2-1. Brenner rescued the Condors again though, walking down the right wing and ringing a wrist shot off the post and in to tie the game at 2-2, 15:51 into the frame. The Condors would get a late power-play as well, but it was Idaho who benefited with Justin Dowling scoring shorthanded to give the Steelheads a 3-2 intermission lead. Idaho outshot Bakersfield, 14-13. Mouillierat got his second of the night to extend the lead to 4-2 at 2:24 of the third period. Forward Alex Hudson would halve the lead at 4-3, forcing a turnover and going through the five-hole of Idaho goalie Josh Robinson at 8:34. That would be as close as the Condors would get though, as Mouillierat capped the hat trick at 8:34 and forward Sam Carrick put the game away at 17:28 for a 6-3 Steelheads win.
