Bulls lose road trip finale in Ontario

ONTARIO, Calif.  – The San Francisco Bulls were defeated 3-1 by the Ontario Reign in the final contest of their nine-game road trip, Wednesday night at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Edmonton Oilers Theo Peckham made his Bulls debut in the loss, while former San Jose Sharks forward Devin Setoguchi recorded two assists for the victorious Reign. The Bulls return home Friday to take on the Stockton Thunder.

Vincent LoVerde put the Reign on top with 7:15 remaining in the first period with his fourth goal of the season. Ontario out-shot the Bulls 15-10 in the first period.

Hard work by Justin Bowers and Jordan Morrison led to Peter Sivak’s tally, 55 seconds into the second period. Sivak’s second of the season, tied the game at one. Ontario registered the next two goals. Jason Beeman scored at 8:53 of the middle frame, followed by Dan DaSilva’s goal, 3:14 later, for a 3-1 advantage.

The Bulls were unable to solve goaltender Chris Carrozzi in the third period. Final shots on goal favored Ontario 36-24. Evan Barlow had his four-game point streak snapped.   Thomas Heemskerk finished with 33 saves for the Bulls.
 
The Bulls return home to the Cow Palace on Friday, November 9, against the Stockton Thunder. On Saturday, November 10, the Bulls take on the Ontario Reign.

Bulls with another tough loss in Colorado

LOVELAND, Colo – The San Francisco Bulls lost again to the Colorado Eagles, 7-2, on Saturday night at the Budweiser Events Center. Michael Forney scored three goals to lead the Eagles. Jordan Morrison and Dylan King scored the two goals for the Bulls, who have now lost their last six games (0-5-0-1).
 
Dylan Hood put the Eagles on top with 3:05 remaining in the first period. Morrison tied the game up just 46 seconds later with a high shot over the glove of Kyle Jones. Evan Barlow and Kris Belan earned the assists on the play. The Eagles took over in the second period with four goals. Forney scored at the 1:11 mark on the power play. While shorthanded, Cody Sol had a shot from his own blue line carom off a player and eluded Taylor Nelson at 7:07. Nelson was then replaced by Thomas Heemskerk after allowing Forney’s second of the period with 7:55 remaining in the period. Joey Sides put the Eagles up 5-1 with 4:15 remaining in the second period.
 
In the third period, the Eagles went up 6-1 on Forney’s third goal at 3:13. Ray Kaunisto made it a 7-1 game at the 9:50 mark. King rounded out the scoring on the power play with his first goal in a Bulls jersey. Jordan Clendenning and Dean Ouellet earned the assists on the goal with 3:22 remaining in the third period. The Bulls play one more road game on Wednesday in Ontario against the Reign. They will then head home to face the Stockton Thunder on Friday, November 9 and the Ontario Reign on Saturday, November 10.
