Gavin Austin will be handed a utility role at The Dragons next season, after agreeing on a sixth successive campaign with the Chester Road outfit.
The 25-year-old, who was born in St Asaph, has spent his entire senior career at Flintshire, collecting 17 points in 30 games last term.
He will be part of a Dragons squad that many expect to challenge for Laidler Conference silverware, following a summer takeover by Red Hockey.
Deeside chief Lol Paul expects Austin to fill an important role, as he looks to fulfill those early predictions.
He said: “Next season will be a big test for this side, so to have guys like Gavin here will be crucial. He is able to fill in across the squad, which is exactly what we need.
“He’s got great ability in both attack and defence, which is a very useful set of skills to have. There will be times when Gavin could win games for us.
“Of course, the fact that he’s grown up with this club is a massive benefit. It means we’ll have total commitment throughout the side, which is very important.”
Gavin Austin’s own & loan shirt is now for sale, at a cost of £80. To book, email: commercial@deesidedragons.co.uk.
