COLUMBUS, Georgia – The Auburn Tigers hockey club hosted the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders this weekend and swept the brace of games.
On Friday night, the Tigers defeated the Raiders, 7-2, in the opening of the weekend.
On Saturday, the Tigers won again by a 7-3 count.
But the game was far more exciting than the score might suggest.
The jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period with one goal coming as time expired in the frame.
The middle period was a thrilling effort from both sides as the the Raiders rallied for three goals but surrendered one to close the fist 40 minutes of play trailing by just one at 4-3.
The third was all Tigers as they post three unanswered goals to win going away, 7-3.
The Blue Raiders are finishing up their third season in the American Collegiate Hockey Association.
