A’s drop Cape Cod, 4-1

The A’s have now extended their winning streak to eight straight games, and also picked up their ninth consecutive win on home ice. New York jumped to an early 1-0 lead after Chris Holmes potted his 11th of the season 3:28 into the first period.  Holmes put home Angelo Serse’s pass in front to get the A’s on the board.  Jesse Felten continued his goal scoring streak shortly after on his 14th of the year at the 6:32 mark. Felten deflected Brett Dickinson’s shot from the point on the power play, which gives the defenseman four assists in three games for the Aviators.
The man advantage was just that for the A’s in the second period, an advantage, as they scored again to take a 3-0 lead.  Nick Grove netted his first in a New York Jersey at the 9:46 spot for the only goal scored in the middle frame. Cape Cod tallied their first goal of the game in the final period to cut the score to 3-1, after Vincent Amigone deflected the puck past A’s net minder Kevin Druce.  The A’s though, would regain their three-goal lead back on a late marker by John Goffredo to secure the Aviators’ victory.
