ONTARIO, Calif. – The Ontario Reign (11-6), four-time ECHL Pacific Division Champions and proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s 2014 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, saw their Western Conference Finals lead slip to 3-2 following a 6-2 loss in Game 5 to the Allen Americans (10-6) in front of a crowd of 4,371 on Sunday night at Citizens Business Bank Arena. 
Judd Blackwater converted just 10 seconds into Ontario’s first power play chance of the night when he took a pass from Jeff May at the right circle and snapped it past Riley Gill at 14:08 of the first period.
The Americans tied the score at 1-1 in the middle frame when Justin Baker emerged from the box and received a pass from Konrad Abeltshauser, and fired a shot past Joe Cannata at 6:26.
Ontario pulled ahead again when Blackwater chased the puck in the right corner and fed it out to Rocco Carzo, who directed it past Gill at 14:30.
Allen recovered in the third period when Chad Costello banked in a feed from Baker past Cannata at 8:27 to tie the score, and the Americans took their first lead of the night at 9:15 when Gary Steffes drove to the net and scored.
The visitors widened their lead with goals from Spencer Asuchak at 15:00, an empty-net tally from Chris Crane at 17:59, and then finally Asuchak again on the power play at 19:04 to ensure that the series will head back to Allen, Texas for Game 6 on Tuesday, May 26 at 5:05 p.m. (PDT).
Cannata took the loss with 22 saves; Gill earned the win with 22 stops.
