ALLEN, TX – The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, and partner Globe Life are proud to announce that the team has signed forward Zane Franklin to a contract for the 20-21 season.
Zane Franklin will enter his rookie year with Allen. The five-foot-nine and 205-pound forward played the last two seasons with the Kamloops Blazers of the Western Hockey League. He posted big numbers last year, putting up 91 points in 63 games.
“Zane (Franklin) will be one of the new guys that can chop the wood and carry the water,” Allen Americans Head Coach and General Manager Steve Martinson said. “He has great vision and passing skills, combined with being one of the toughest pound-for-pound players in junior hockey.”
Prior to his time with Kamloops, he played two full seasons with the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the WHL, where he had 52 points in 131 games.
“I’m very excited to get an opportunity to play in the great state of Texas,” Franklin said. “I’m looking forward to getting back on the ice and joining my new teammates in Allen.”
