Admirals Scared Off by Monsters

Milwaukee, WI–Things started badly for the Admirals and didn’t get any better as they dropped a 5-0 defeat to the Cleveland Monsters on Tuesday night at Panther Arena.

The Monsters scored two goals less than a minute part mid-way through the first, including one from Brett Gallant that came from a Monsters dump-in that took an odd bounce off the boards and right to Gallant in front of an empty Admirals net as goalie Anders Lindback went behind the it to play the puck.

Cleveland scored two more in the second period. The backbreaking tally may have come when the Ads were on a power-play late in the period with a chance to cut the lead in half. Instead, Cleveland’s Justin Scott went in on a shorthanded breakaway and scored high-glove side for a 3-0 advantage with 3:46 to play in the middle frame.

Terry Broadhurst scored the next two for Cleveland, one at the end of the second and another to begin the third, to complete a hat trick. It was the first time an opposing player had scored a hat trick against the Ads at home since December 19, 2015 when Chase DeLeo did it for Manitoba.
