Admirals Get Bitten by Hogs

Milwaukee, WI—Jack Dougherty and Vladislav Kamenev each scored goals for Milwaukee, but it wasn’t enough as the Admirals dropped their second games in as many nights with a 4-2 loss to Rockford at Panther Arena.

After getting shutout on Friday night, the Ads were able to get one on the board mid-way through the first period. Mike Ribeiro found a streaking Dougherty in the slot and he directed the puck over the glove hand of Rockford goalie Jeff Glass for a 1-0 Milwaukee lead.

Rockford would respond with the next two goals with former Admiral Michael Latta scoring the first and assisting on Anthony Louis’ goal at 9:32.

Vladislav Kamenev tied things up for Milwaukee with a wrister from the top of the left circle that had just enough on it to get through Glass’ legs. Kamenev’s 19th of the year came with 11:03 left in the sandwich frame.

The Hogs would regain the lead 6:12 into the third period on a rebound goal by Brandon Mashinter.

The Ads had some good chances to tie the game up in the third and had 45 seconds of 6-on-4 time coming after Rockford took a too many men on the ice penalty. However, just after the face-off Ville Pokka sent the puck the length of the ice into an empty net to ice the game at 4-2.

Marek Mazanec finished the night with 38 saves, but suffered the loss.
