RAPID CITY, S.D. – Stephen Perfetto scored twice, Troy Redmann made 26 saves, and the Alaska Aces won their first road game 4-1 Friday night in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Perfetto scored the game’s first goal with a blow-by of a Rush defender, roofing a wrister glove side of goaltender Nic Riopel at 12:56 of the first period.
Perfetto struck again early in the second period assisted by Tim Coffman and Joe Perry. Then Ben Lake used his speed to get in position to score his first goal of the season to give Alaska a 3-0 lead.
Rapid City would cut the lead to 3-1 on Spencer Pommel’s power play goal at 12:02 of the second.
The two teams would then battle the rest of the way, with the Rush attacking in waves but the Aces repelling those arrows, most notably with Redmann’s save off a deflection in the third period.
Justin Breton scored into an empty net to complete the scoring with 20 seconds to go, and the Aces had their 4th win of the season.
Redmann finished with 26 saves in the win…Riopel took the loss with 25 saves.
Alaska remains in first place in the West Division with the win.
