Acadie-Bathurst dominates Quebec Miromanov and Morand lead Titans offense with two goals each

QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. — Dominating 16-5 in shots on goal in the opening periods and 53-24 in game, the Acadie-Bathurst team did most of their damage in middle frame with three goals scored adding two more in third before Quebec put one behind Titans goaltender Reilly Pickard signing a dominating 5-1 win over the Quebec Remparts. Damill Miromanov with two goal and assist and Antoine Morand with two goals led home team offensive. Been almost perfect for 56 minutes Pickard lose his shutout with less than four minutes remaining as his team played in shorthanded situation for third times in the game. Acadie-Bathurst_Titan_svg

Acadie Bathurst team took control of the action in first half of first period dominating 11-4 in shots on goal but thanks to Quebec goaltender Callum Booth who get the nod as starter after Evgeny Kiselev got last two games in goal the score still 0-0 after first ten minutes.

Quebec got first chance to launch their power play opportunity after only 2:43 gone in first period with the penalty to Titans right winger Igor Popov. Acadie-Bathurst got their first power play chance following a penalty to Quebec defenseman Anthony Gindras at 11:18 for holding.

Taking sit on the bench in last two games Booth continued to doing great stopping all 16 shots he faced. Acadie-Bathurst best scoring chance came from the stick of center Mark Simpson as his shot hit the post on Booth right side. Quebec got only five shots against Titans goalie Reilly Pickard. Bronson Beaton and Auguste Impose got best shot.

Quebec came back in second period getting their second power play opportunities following a cross checking penalty to Mark Tricket. Successfully killed Quebec second power play Titans right winger Jeffrey Tuchon-Viel got great opportunity with a wrist shot coming from along the board but Quebec netminder made the save with right pad.

Quebec goalie prevent Acadie-Bathurst to draw the first blood in the game just as penalty to Quebec center Alexandre Sills as Booth made two consecutive saves first on Danill Miromanov wrist shot and a pad saves on backhanded shot by Jordsn Maher.

Already been 0-in-2 with a man advantage Acadie-Bathurst opened the scoring on their third attempts with man up on their 26 shots as Quebec enforcer Yanick Turcotte was in the box for goalie interference.

Missing chances couple minutes before Titans right winger Danill Miromanov tip-in a wrist shot from Blue line by defenseman Garrett Johnston at 10:53.

Been shutout in first two power plays in the game Titans broke the ice on their third attempts and adds another one on their fourth power play opportunities. Been found guilty for tripping the penalty to Olivier Garneau has been costly one for Quebec as Guillaume Brisebois the Titans captain scored his 7th of the season beating Booth inside the right post at 16:06

Scoring first two goals in the game on last three power play opportunities, the home team adds third one playing at even strength with only 19 seconds remaining in middle frame as center Antoine Morand wrist shot beat Quebec goalie over right shoulder.

Dominating 16-5 in shots on goal after the first period Titans still dominating 42- 15 after forty minutes.

Acadie-Bathurst adds two more goals in third periods putting the game out of Quebec reach. Damill Marimanov with his second of the game went on breakaway beating Quebec goaltender with backhanded shots at 10:56.

Antoine Morand followed 19 seconds later also with his second of the game giving a 5-0 lead to Titans over the Remparts.

Been perfect for first 16:00 minutes of the game Acadie-Bathurst netminder lose his shutout as Quebec captain Bronson Beaton pushed rebound shot from teammate forward Olivier Garneau between Pickard pads for Quebec only goal of the game on their third power play opportunities in the game.

In other QMJHL news, after Martin Bernard who has been fired in Shawinigan couple weeks ago, Mario Pietronero the Baie-Comeau head coach got bad news on Sunday being fired by Baie-Comeau general manager Steve Ahern. Ahern will replace Pietronero until the end of the year. Baie-Comeau showed a record of 8-43-2-2 in 55 games.

Quebec next game will be at home next Thursday hosting Blainville Boisbriand Armada.
