QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. —Coming off a big loss in Baie-Comeau on last Friday night, the Titans came in Quebec playing much better game winning 4-1 against the Remparts. Coming from Chicoutimi Russian winger German Rubtsov played very solid hockey scoring two goals leading his team to the win.

Quebec got on the board first when right winger Pascal Laberge mystified Titans defenseman Noah Dobson, before beating Acadie-Bathurst goaltender Evan Fitzpatrick low on stick side, with backhanded shot 1:46 into opening period.

Acadie-Bathurst tied the game less than nine minute later as Jeffrey Truchon-Viel redirect a shot from Ethan Crossman from the blue line at 9:41.

Titans took the lead for first time in the game, as former Chicoutimi Sagueneens right winger German Rubtsov, took a loose puck, beating Quebec goaltender Samuel on glove side with 15:23 remaining in middle frame.

Rubtsov came back less the seven minutes later with his second goal of the game at 10:14 as his shot from the slot beat Quebec goalie Samuel on left side.

Going 0-in-50 with a man advantage since they came back from Christmas break, Quebec got three other chances in first Period, five in game without scoring.

Acadie Bathurst added another goal in third period when defenseman Noah Dobson’s long wrist shot has deflected on Quebec player before beating Quebec netminder between his pads with 10:23 remaining in the period.

“This morning we have had a meeting with the players, we changed our routine completely, we took long time to think after the loss in Baie-Comeau, and told them, between supposedly been good and becoming good, you have to work and work the right way.” Acadie Bathurst head coach Mario Pouliot said after his team win in Quebec.

“We have had a meeting with the players and after players has had a meeting between themselves, I tip my hat off to them for the kind of performance, we have to repeat night after night.” Titans head coach Pouliot continued.

“At the beginning of the game we made a mistake in our zone outing but after that I think I like the way we played, we took control of the game.”

For one, on Quebec side Pascal Laberge was the first to admit his team must play better than they did tonight. “I think we all look ourselves in the mirror, we all to better including me. We can’t lose two games at home like that, we have to step up.”

“We were sloppy, we weren’t ready to play. That included our lack of concentration,” continued the former Victoriaville Tigres forward when he was questioned about his team power play that was 0-in-55 after the game.”

Quebec head coach seemed to be bugged by two things overall about his team performance. “I’m not agreed with you when you referred to last Thursday scenario, first it is one of best team in the league what look like Thursday was we were flat. That is something I have hard time to explain, we were flat from the beginning that is what bugged me especially when we have great crowd like today they were 11 or 12 thousand fans (11,316). Their best player is Noah Dobson by far, Dobson is the best defenseman in the league, and with the help of Galipeau (Olivier) they took control of the game.”
