Pre-season continues for a third week and sees the debut of two more teams this week.
Enter the reigning Motorpoint Elite League champions, Belfast Giants. The Giants will take on Herlev Eagles of Denmark twice this weekend, tonight and again on Sunday, both at the O2 Arena in Belfast, in preparation for the new season. Next weekend, they’ll play in the Warrior Cup in Germany.
In Scotland, Fife Flyers make their first appearance this pre-season, and it’s a first game behind the bench for new Head Coach Tim Wallace. They welcome Kyiv Capitals to the Auld Barn, with the Ukrainians playing three games in Scotland this weekend.
Kyiv compete in the Latvian top flight, the Optibet Hockey League, which is the same league as HK Mogo, who played in last year’s Continental Cup Final in Nottingham.
Sticking with a Latvian theme, HK Liepāja visit Glasgow Clan on Friday night ahead of facing Dundee on Saturday.
Glasgow will play Kyiv as well this weekend as they play two games after losing their opening pre-season fixture at home to Dundee last Sunday.
