Late offensive flurry not enough to save LA in Detroit Kings offense does not go beyond Carter's two

In Detroit Friday night, the Los Angeles Kings were stymied by Petr Mrazek who made 35 saves in a 3-2 win for the Detroit Red Wings.

It wasn’t that the Kings were not trying especially late when they managed three shots n the last five seconds.

“That was a tough last minute, but I got in front of a couple shots, and the guys were blocking everything,” he said of the final seconds. “I don’t even know how many shots they stopped, because I couldn’t even see everything at that point.”Detroit-Red-Wings-Logo

Tomas Tatar, Mike Green and Dylan Larkin scored for the Red Wings.

“I’ve been trying to concentrate on shooting the puck a little bit more to try to get something created. So it felt good to get one tonight,” Green said.

After a shorthanded goal from the Kings at the end of the first, the Wings responded with two goals in the second to build a 3-1.

“I thought we played not bad in the first [period], I thought they outplayed us in the second, even though we scored, and I thought in the third we pushed back,” Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said. “I thought we did a good job in the third. We didn’t give up as much, they still created some until the very end. It was a good win.”

Both Kings goals came from Jeff Carter.

“I think it was a good road game for us. We had chances to get another goal. It could’ve gone either way,” said Enroth, who lost for the first time in four decisions this season.

Jhonas Enroth made 26 saves for Los Angeles who fell to 12-7-0.

“I think it was a good road game for us. We had chances to get another goal. It could’ve gone either way,” said Enroth, who lost for the first time in four decisions this season.
