It was a better effort for the Ottawa 67’s, Saturday night, but they were again unable to come away with a win vs the Gatineau Olympiques.
Logan Morrison scored his 30th of the season, and Ottawa had plenty of chances, but the home side earned a 4-1 victory at the Slush Puppie Centre.
The 67’s came flying out go the gate, but it was Samuel Savoie opening the scoring at the 16:17 mark of the first.
Morrison responded for the 67’s just 59 seconds into the middle period, when Jack Beck fed him from behind the net, and he sent a shot up high on Francesco Lapenna to tie the game.
Riley Kidney made it 2-1 Gatineau just past the midway point, and while there was no more scoring to be found in the second period, a melee ensued at the buzzer, when Pavel Mintyukov dropped the gloves with Zach Dean, and Bradley Horner took on Cole Cormier, after a late whack on Max Donoso.
Olivier Nadeau scored a pair in the third, and despite a valiant effort, the 67’s fell to their regional rivals once again.
The 67’s get back at it on Thursday, with a 7:05 pm visit to the Peterborough Petes.
