For the Winnipeg Jets, it’s wheels up over the last few games. After a rocky start, the Jets have stitched together a few good games including a 3-2 win over the Kings in Los Angeles on Thursday night.
Pierre-Luc Dubois struck twice for the Jets.
“One thing that I’ve been working on is just trying to be consistent,” Dubois said. “It’s a long season, and I’ve gone stretches without scoring for many games and I’ve gone stretches scoring and feeling good for a long period of time, so it’s just about finding what you do right and just keep going with it. I just want to be consistent and consistently help the team win, and right now the puck’s going in, but I want to be helpful defensively, helpful offensively without the puck, with the puck, everything.”
Kyle Connor assisted on all three Winnipeg goals.
“That’s one of the toughest things to do in this League is get on a streak, get on a roll, to be able to stack a couple, especially on the road,” Connor said. “It’s good. I think we can build off these games.”
Eric Comrie made 30 saves for the Jets win.
Rasmus Kupari and Adrian Kempe were the LA strikers.
“We’re finding ways to lose games right now, which is a coach’s cliche, but that’s a fact,” Kings head coach Todd McLellan said. “We’re a goal short every night and we’re finding a way to be a goal short, so we’ve got to polish things up.”
The Jets needed a power play goal from Andrew Copp to tie the game, 2-2, in the third period.
“That’s my personal belief is when we pass well, we’re a good team, and when we don’t, we struggle to produce offense, which in turn makes us play defense a lot more,” Kings forward Dustin Brown said.
Jonathan Quick made 28 saves in the LA loss.
