LAS VEGAS – On a “beary” special night, the Las Vegas Wranglers won 4-0 over the Orlando Solar Bears to nab their first shutout of the season during the team’s tenth annual Teddy Bear Toss.
Wranglers center Chris Francis added a 5-on-3 power play goal to the board 5:40 into the second for the 2-0 advantage, and a second goal from Godfrey 28 seconds into the third on a power play carrying over from the second put the team up 3-0. For the 4-0 lead, and eventual win, Wranglers forward Andrew Sarauer broke away on a penalty kill and went one-on-one against Solar Bears goaltender Hannu Toivonen to score his first shorthanded goal of the season.In his first shutout of 2012-13, Wranglers goaltender Joe Fallon stopped all 27 shots he faced from Orlando.
The Wranglers split a set of home games next weekend between the Idaho Steelheads and Stockton Thunder.
