Owner of the ECHL’s record for hardest slap shot at 102.7 mph, Wranglers defenseman Josh Godfrey kicked off scoring late in the first period with a shot from the point for a 1-0 lead, and over 900 teddy bears and stuffed animals poured onto the ice.

From then onward, special teams dominated the game as the rest of Las Vegas’ goals came on power play and penalty kill opportunities.

Wranglers center Chris Francis added a 5-on-3 power play goal to the board 5:40 into the second for the 2-0 advantage, and a second goal from Godfrey 28 seconds into the third on a power play carrying over from the second put the team up 3-0. For the 4-0 lead, and eventual win, Wranglers forward Andrew Sarauer broke away on a penalty kill and went one-on-one against Solar Bears goaltender Hannu Toivonen to score his first shorthanded goal of the season.
