MANCHESTER, UK – GREG Wood has been named Manchester Phoenix’ Player of the Year. The 23-year-old took home the accolade after a solid season on the Club’s second line where we posed 43 points in 56 games. Defenceman of the Year was Luke Boothroyd whilst Adam Walker was named Forward of the Year. Finn Jaakko Hagelberg won three awards – Utility Player, Fans Favourite and Supporters Club Player of the Year Ben Wood won player-coach Tony Hand’s player of the year. Meanwhile, Phoenix’ starlet Declan Ryan backstopped England u19s to a 6-1 win over their Scottish counterparts on Sunday. Defenceman Andrew McKinney and Forward Max Drakeley also played in the match.
