Wisconsin ends RIT’s run

DETRIOT, MI – In the Frozen Four finals at Ford Field in Detroit, Mi, Wisconsin scored the first six goals of the game to end RIT’s Cinderella run and blasted their way into Saturday’s championship game 8-1. The Badgers will now take on Boston College for the right to be named the NCAA Division I Men’s National Champion. Wisconsin was dominating from the drop of the puck until the very end and will be a force to be reckoned with in what looks to be a great final game of the season on Saturday. Derek Stepan scorded two goals and two assists and Brendan Smith added five assists . The Badgers were 3 of 7 on the power play while RIT scored their only goal of the game on the power play as well. The Badgers outshot the Tigers 37-14 and had double digits in shots in every period. RIT never had more than 6 in any one period. Saturday’s game will be shown at 7 pm on ESPN.   The Hobey Baker award will be announced on Friday at Ford Field.
