Canadian Hockey League player of the week for Sept 26 – Oct 2 is Mark Stone of the Brandon Wheat Kings. Stone had nine points in three games scoring four goals and adding 5 assists.
Transactions
Moose Jaw Warriors acquire Luke Siemens from Everett Silvertips. In exchange for Siemens the Warriors gave the Silvertips forward Matt Grant and 3rd rnd picks in the 2012 and 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.
Seattle Thunderbirds acquire defenceman Braeden Laroque from the Edmonton Oil Kings for a 4th rnd pick in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft.
Vancouver Giants have acquired goalie Adam Morrison and right winger Levi Bews from the Saskatoon Blades for Michael Burns, Zach Hodder and a 4th rnd pick in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.
Spokane Chiefs Liam Stewart has been cleared to play in the U-18’s world Championships in Heerenveen, Netherlands from March 31 till April 6, 2012. Stewart will play for Great Britain. For those of you that do not know Stewart is the son of musician Rod Steward and actress Rachel Hunter.
Pittsburgh Penguins have returned defenceman Joe Morrow back to junior. Morrow will rejoin Portland Winterhawks.
Regina Pats have assigned defenseman Tyler Bortsmayer to the Weyburn Red Wings of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL).
Tri City Americans have assigned forward Olli Dickson to the Spruce Grove Saints of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL).
