Warriors roster for 2010/11 starts to take shape

WHITLEY BAY, UK – It has recently been revealed that Whitley Warriors will welcome back hot shot Adam Reynolds for a 2nd season at Hillheads and that their former defenceman Kevin Bucas will also be wearing the White, Gold and Maroon of Whitley once again next term.

Reynolds has also be appointed club captain for the 2010/11 campaign as Whitley stalwart Bryan Dunn who led the side last season has decided to take some time away from the sport. Reynolds who has previously played in the EPL with Peterborough Phantoms was the Warriors top points scorer last term in his first season in the ENL and Northern Leagues and Coach Simon Leach will no doubt be hoping that the captaincy can take his forwards game to a new level.

Kevin Bucas has previously iced for Whitley Bay as well as the Newcastle Vipers and the Castlereagh Knights. The capture of Bucas will boost the Warriors defensive options ahead of the 2010/11 term as Rob Wilson has left Hillheads already this close season which in effect left Whitley a little light defensively.

Whitley have also signed net minder Calvin Khass to replace Liam McAllister who has moved on to link up with the Newcastle Vipers organisation. Khass is expected to act as back up net minder to James Flavell for the majority of the campaign as Flavell firmly established himself as the clubs first choice goalie last season after he moved north from the Billingham Bombers.

All in all Whitley’s squad for the next campaign looks to be taking shape rather nicely. Some experienced performers such as Bryan Dunn and Rob Wilson may have moved on from Hillheads however it does appear that Coach Simon Leach is recruiting a roster than could well go on to retain the ENL league title they won last season.
