Victoriaville has last word in win over Quebec

QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. —Winners of the last two games against Shawinigan on Friday (4- 3 in shootout) and Gatineau (12-1) on Saturday, Quebec ended their weekend facing Victoriaville in their third game in three nights. Angelo Miceli with three goal and Brandon Hynes (2 goals, 1 assist) led Victoriaville offense in 6-5 win over Quebec.
 
Both teams traded goals in the first including Angelo Miceli for Victoriaville at 7:49 and Logan Shaw with Quebec first goal beating Tigres netminder Brandon Whitney between his pads with 4:26 remaining in the opening frame.
 
Fans who decided to come to see game in Victoriaville (3070) instead of watching Stars Academie on TV, did not regret their decision seeing seven goals scored in second period, five of them by their favorite. Victoriaville led 6-4 after two periods chasing Quebec goaltender Louis Domingue who left the game after giving 5 goals on 19 in 31:09 seconds of play.
 
Victoriaville regained the lead 2-1 on Philippe Maillet power play goal 36 seconds into the second period. Quebec center Jeremie Malouin had been penalized at the end of the first period (19:34).
 
Quebec came back for second times in the game 5:23 into the period. Left alone in the slot Frederick Roy didn’t missed his chance scoring his 20th of the year.
 
Already scoring first Victoriaville goal in the game, Miceli scores his second of the night deflecting a shot taken by Carl-Antoine Delisle with 11:29 to go in the period. But Quebec didn’t say their last word coming back for third times on Gabriel Desjardins goal only 10 seconds later.
 
Victoriaville regained the lead for fourth times 2:13 later on Brandon Hynes first of the night, his 31st of the year with 9:09 left in middle frame.
 
Miceli’s third goal of the game scored 15 seconds later giving a two goals lead for first time in the game (5-3), was the last goal giving by Quebec veteran goalie Domingue being pulled by head coach Patrick Roy after giving last three goals being unable to control rebound. Francois Brassard came in to complete the game allowing 1 goal on 15 shots in 27:29 minutes of play.
 
Quebec cut the Victoriaville lead in half scoring their fourth goal in the game on first of the night by Jeremie Malouin at 17:43. Hidden behind Quebec defenseman Hynes scored Tigres sixth goal his second of the night with only 41 seconds left in the period.
 
Giving all they left in the tank after a third games in three nights, Quebec scored their fifth goal when Quebec left winger Malouin scores his second of the night at 12:07. But unfortunately for them it wasn’t enough. With this victory, Victoriaville trailed Quebec only by two in the overall standing but Quebec still has one game in hand.
 
Quebec next game will be next Friday hosting the Rimouski Oceanic.
