Chad Painchaud%2C scores winning OT Goal

BAKERSFIELD , Calif. – The Victoria Salmon Kings have closed the door on the Bakersfield Condors ending their season with a 3-2 win in overtime for the first round of the Western Conference Quarterfinals in four games.
 
Condor’s Stephane Goulet opened the scoring with a goal at 6:27, and they led 1-0 until late in the second period.  
 
Milan Gajic scored his third goal of the playoffs on a power play at 16:40.   The power play was awarded as a result of objects on the ice.   A second Victoria goal came at 19:53 on a pass from Ryan Dingle to Adam Taylor, to put them up 2-1.
 
In the third period, Josh Burrows scored a goal at 12:12 to give the Condors the tying goal at two apiece.    Despite several close shots, the score remained tied forcing overtime.

Then at the 4:26 marker of the over-time period, Painchaud scored his second goal in the post-season to give the Salmon Kings the win with a final score of 3-2 and eliminating the Condors from post-season play on the road.  
 
Salmon King’s David Shantz had 28 saves for the game, while Brian Stewart posted 20.   Victoria was one for three on the man-advantage, while the Condors were unsuccessful in two opportunities.
 
The Condors earned their post-season with a first place win in the Pacific Division to face the Salmon Kings.   The Salmon Kings advance to the second round to face the winner of the Stockton Thunder and Utah Grizzlies series, which is currently led by the Grizzlies 2-1.
