Tornado notebook: Ice Rays come to town for two-game set

FRISCO, Texas – The Texas Tornado are looking to continue their winning streak against the Corpus Christi Ice Rays, who lost to them last Saturday, 6-2. The Tornado are looking for a strong ending to their season as they will make the playoffs.   They are currently in 3rd place in the South Division with a record of 34-16- 8. The Ice Rays are also looking for a strong finish and reside in 5th place in the South Division   at 26-27-3.

Joakim Jutras gets the start in net for the Texas Tornado while Anthony Stolarz is in net for the Corpus Christi Ice Rays.

The back-to-back series takes place on Friday, March 30 and Saturday March 31, with both games starting at 7:30 pm at the Dr. Pepper Stars Center in Frisco, Texas

For the Tornado to complete a home sweep against the Ice Rays, they need to watch for Beau Walker and AJ Jarsez, who are first and second in points for Corpus Christi.   If they contain these two, the Tornado have a chance in closing the series sweep at home.

For the Ice Rays to spoil the Tornado home sweep of them, they need to watch out for Jack Prince, who is 4th in the NAHL with 75 points and 1st in goals with 39 and his linemate Jordan Greenberg, who is third in the league with 58 points.

Jack Prince, who has been the biggest reason why the Tornado are making the playoffs, is looking for a 40-goal season. So if the Ice Rays do not contain those two, the Tornado will win the game.

Look for a fast pace for the start of this series and look for both teams to try and get a good start to the game. As we have recapped before with these games with the Tornado, they have a great home record and are hard to defeat at home.
