SHEFFIELD, U.K.- Sheffield Steeldogs player/coach, Andre Payette, has wasted no time in securing the Steeldogs’ first new signing of the 2012/13 EPL season through Tom Squires.
After one and a half seasons playing in the EIHL, Squires has left the Sheffield Steelers and returned to the Steeldogs.
Squires played a total of 105 games for the Steelers securing a total of 36 points, 15 goals and 21 assists.
Prior to his stint in the EIHL, Squires was a valuable player for the Sheffield Steeldogs. The 2009/10 season was his first full season in the EPL and for the Steeldogs. In this season, Squires secured a total of 36 points in 44 games.
Squires also played 10 games for the Steeldogs during the 2010/11 season before moving to the Steelers. During these 10 games, he scored 7 goals and secured 6 assists.
Owner of the Sheffield Steeldogs, Shane Smith, said, “ I am already looking forward to seeing an even stronger Sheffield team that Andre is putting together.”
Shane Smith also disclosed some exciting information for Steeldogs fans, “I think our fans will be impressed with the further signings for 2012-13 and on Thursday next week another three names will be unveiled in an evening at the Noose and Gibbet Inn.”
