STOCKTON, Calif. – Saturday night before 8,077 fans at the Stockton Arena for the annual Teddy Bear Toss, the Stockton Thunder battled the Bakersfield Condors, finally defeating them in a shootout for the 4-3 win. Only 2:48 into the first period, the Alex MacLeod scored prompting fans to begin tossing their stuffed animals to the ice. The game was delayed while Thunder players, staff and firefighters helped with the cleanup.
Once the game started again, Condor’s Nicholas Tremblay scored on Brian Foster in the Net on a power play at 12:35. The score was tied at one apiece as the teams went to the dressing room.
The second period each team exchanged power play goals. Matt Thurber at 13:54 and Greg Miller at 17:12, again leading to a tie for intermission.
