Telus three stars of the week in the QMJHL

QUEBEC CITY , P.Q. — Zach O’Brien, Philippe Cadorette and Yanni Gourde were respectively been named the Telus three stars of the week in the QMJHL.
 
Ending the week with 7 points on 5 goals and 2 assist helps the Acadie-Bathurst right winger Zach O’Brien to earn the QMJHL first stars of the week. With 86 points in 48 games, O’Brien trailed only by two on the overall scoring leader Victoriaville left winger Yanni Gourde.
 
In a 7-4 wins over the Moncton Wildcats the Titan right winger scored his 40th goal of the season (first in the QMJHL). Adding three goals and an assist O’Brien earned the first stars of that game.
 
Playing the Saint John Sea Dogs on Sunday he ended the game scoring another goal adding another assist totaling 7 points on the week.
 
The second stars went to Baie-Comeau Drakkar rookie goaltender Philippe Cadorette. Playing his third games in the QMJHL facing the Prince Edward Island, the St-Hyacinthe native made 11 saves in a 6-1 win against the Rocket. Being sent between the pipes in Sunday’s game against Rimouski, the one who had been a 2nd round selection in 2011 draft made 28 saves earning his first career shutout in a 2-0 wins over the Oceanic, being named the first stars of the game.
 
The third stars of the week went to Victoriaville Tigres left winger Yanni Gourde recording 5 points scoring 2 goals and a plus/minus record of +3.
 
In first of two games played during the week a 5-4 victory against Drummondville Voltigeurs, Gourde ended that game scoring 1 goal adding 3 more assists, one of the assist being on the game winning goal late in third period.
 
On Sunday against the Prince Edward Island, the left winger scored what became the game winning goal in a 2-1 win against the Rocket.
