T-Devils force game 6

ELMIRA, NY – The season goes on for at least one more day for the Trenton Devils as they defeated the Elmira Jackals 3-2 in overtime on Trevor Kell’s goal 7:56 into the extra session. Due to the goal the teams will meet Sunday night in Trenton for Game 6.
The Jackals, as they have done in each game of the series so far, took the early 1-0 lead on a score from Paul McIlveen. The Jackals outshot Trenton 9-4 in the first, but the Devils would own the second period, holding an 11-3 edge in shots and scoring the stanza’s lone goal off the stick of rookie Jeff Prough. The Devils also held the shot advantage in the third period, though it appeared it would be all for naught when Elmira’s Chaz Johnson scored at the 4:22 mark to give the Jackals the lead.   The lead would only last for 67 second as Dan Eves third goal of the series would tie the game and force the overtime period.
In his second straight start in net, Trenton’s Jeff Frazee made 20 saves, including six in overtime to lead the Devils to the victory.   Michael Teslak made 26 saves for Elmira but couldn’t make number 27 and as a result the series shifts back to Trenton.
Trenton now faces another elimination game but this time it will be on their home ice at Sovereign Bank Arena where they will hope to force a Game seven with the Jackals. If the series gets that far the game would be played on Tuesday night.
