STOCKTON, Calif. – With only seven regular season games remaining, the Stockton Thunder have secured a place in the post-season, and are looking for a potential home ice advantage for the first round in the Pacific Division. In the Western Conference, where eight of nine teams will advance to the post season, the final two places are still unclaimed. The final three teams are the Utah Grizzlies (59 points), San Francisco Bulls (51 points), and the Bakersfield Condors (43 points).
Stockton will face the Bulls for three more games, Ontario for two and the Condors and Steelheads for one apiece. The Steelheads are currently in the third place position in the Western Conference, with 85 points, followed by the Thunder with 73. The Wranglers and Eagles are separated by a point in fifth and sixth position, at 67 and 66 points respectively. The Thunder has won the last three games against the Bulls, and owns a 5-4-1 record. The last two matchups against the Reign are this coming weekend, in which the Thunder is 5-4-1 in the season series, and leads the all-time series 27-17-6.
Stockton is 6-4 in their last ten games. Over the previous weekend, they split a pair of games with the Wranglers, and defeated the Reign at home.
