SHEFFIELD, U.K.- The Steeldogs’ winning streak came to an abrupt end as the Slough Jets beat the Sheffield side in a convincing 5-0 game.
The score remained goalless in the first period, until 19:46, when Slough’s Aaron Connolly fired the puck past Steeldogs netminder, Dmitri Zimozdra, on the PP, to give the Jets a 1-0 lead heading into the second period.
Darius Pliskauskas doubled the lead for the Jets at 35:31. Seconds later, Aaron Connolly secured his second goal of the night to make it 3-0.
Less than five minutes into the third period, Alex Barker made it 4-0 to the Jets. At 49:32, the home side were caught with their tails between their legs once more, as Frantisek Bakrlik extended the Jets lead to five.
Slough’s netminder, Greg Rockman, was awarded the MOTM.
