Steeldogs shot down by Jets

SHEFFIELD, U.K.- The Steeldogs’ winning streak came to an abrupt end as the Slough Jets beat the Sheffield side in a convincing 5-0 game.
 
The score remained goalless in the first period, until 19:46, when Slough’s Aaron Connolly fired the puck past Steeldogs netminder, Dmitri Zimozdra, on the PP, to give the Jets a 1-0 lead heading into the second period.
 
Darius Pliskauskas doubled the lead for the Jets at 35:31. Seconds later, Aaron Connolly secured his second goal of the night to make it  3-0.
 
Less than five minutes into the third period, Alex Barker made it 4-0 to the Jets. At 49:32, the home side were caught with their tails between their legs once more, as Frantisek Bakrlik extended the Jets lead to five.
 

Frustrated Steeldogs coach, Andre Payette, called a time out and switched netminders with 10 minutes remaining on the clock. With neither team managing to find the back of the net in the final minutes of the third period, the game ended 5-0 to the Jets.
 
Slough’s netminder, Greg Rockman, was awarded the MOTM.
